And here it is; Bilinch!! Bilinch is a new type of machine intelligence and “self-programming” system, supported by algorithms, which allows robots to analyze workpieces and autonomously create their own welding trajectories and programs without any operator intervention. Since 2019, Bilinch has continued as a concept and development program.
We developed it as a synthesis of digital twin, sensor fusion, robotics, machine learning, and process technologies, and it now operates at a TRL9 level in the shipbuilding industry.
One of the most striking examples is the systems we have implemented at our client RMK Marine’s factory. Bilinch has been fully integrated and activated at full performance by our Intecro Robotic Welding teams on two types of multi-axis gantry robots: one measuring 9×40 meters and the other 5×30 meters.
This advancement is the product of true collaboration and dedication, made possible by RMK Marine’s extensive expertise in shipbuilding and their invaluable support. We extend our sincerest thanks to the entire RMK team and wish them continued success. Congratulations to all our teams who contributed to this innovative technology. 💐 Bilinch autonomously performs and applies the following tasks:
- Instructs the robot to examine the workpiece,
- Generates point cloud data of the workpiece,
- Conducts real-time analysis using algorithms,
- Produces dynamic strategies for the robot with RTC,
- Prevents potential collisions between the robot and the workpiece,
- Creates the robot’s working trajectory,
- Determines process data suited to the workpiece,
- Applies adaptive welding parameters,
- Transforms processes into machine consciousness,
- Plans with a decision-support system,
- Autonomously generates the robot program chain,
- And, symbolically, reaches the level of asking, “I understand the required welding task; shall we begin?” Then it’s simply: Y / N.
Bilinch also represents Intecro’s extensive “Machine Intelligence R&D Program,” which incorporates next-generation technologies such as AI, AR, DT, and SF into our products, marking a paradigm shift in our vision.
