As Intecro Robotic Welding, we continue to demonstrate our engineering impact in welding technologies on a global scale.
The “10 kW Fiber Laser and GMAW-based Robotic Laser Hybrid Welding System,” which we produced specifically for the India-based “International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI),” is being commissioned in the field of advanced manufacturing.
Who is ARCI? ARCI is a leading research institution affiliated with the Indian Ministry of Science and Technology, operating in the field of advanced materials and process technologies. Hosting high-tech projects, ARCI created a strategic collaboration opportunity by choosing Intecro’s “laser and laser hybrid welding system.”
📐 With this system, single-pass welding is performed up to 15 mm on steel, stainless steel, and nickel-based superalloy materials, and up to 10 mm on aluminum and copper alloys. All of this is achieved with a laser spot size of 200–600 µm at a speed of 1 m/min, under low heat input, with high precision. Thanks to the positioner added to the system, pipe welding can also be performed.
📐 The Heart of the System: Hybrid Welding Technology The welding head used in the project combines both laser and GMAW techniques at a single point. It is equipped with advanced features such as a heavy-duty water-cooled system, temperature monitoring, spatter protection, seam tracking, and a collision sensor. • Power stability: ±2% • Beam quality: ≤8 mm·mrad
📐 The Highest Level in Design, Testing, and Safety The configuration was planned in full compliance with the ISO 60825 laser safety standard. In addition, all welding capabilities were documented through weldability tests conducted at our facilities. Laser welding and cutting systems carry high risk. To eliminate these risks, the system in the video is integrated into a fully enclosed, laser-eye-protected area.
